What is the focus of this 14-day cleanse?
The main focus of this 2-week plan is to cleanse your system and support the liver to work at optimum levels. Over time the toxins we regularly take in can ‘clog up’ our system and our liver can become overworked and inefficient. Meaning, the toxins stay within our system rather than leaving through waste. By calming the gut and giving the liver support and rest, we can help to return it to its most efficient and we in turn will feel far more energised and our best selves.
What will I eat on this plan?
I have developed recipes for super tasty meal options throughout the plan. You can see an example day menu further up the page, but you can expect plenty of leafy green veg, fresh fruit, beans and pulses plus herbs and spices that will support the function of the liver.
What will I need to cut out of my diet for this plan?
The most important things we will be forgoing for the two-week plan are caffeine, alcohol, dairy and gluten. This may seem worrying if you are accustomed to your morning coffee, but your body will adjust quickly and the food we will be taking in on the menu will provide you with energy giving nutrients. You also won’t find sugar on the menu, unless it is in the form of natural plant sugars, and foods known to cause inflammation in the body, such as those known as ‘Nightshades’.
What are ‘Nightshades’?
Nightshade vegetables are the edible parts of flowering plants that belong to the Solance family, they include tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and white potatoes. Whilst they are high in nutrients and would be included in a balanced diet, they have been shown to increase inflammation in the body. This can counteract the work we are trying to do in cleansing and calming the gut.
How does detoxification feel?
The more toxins within your body, then the worse this cleanse might feel. If you are regularly eating highly processed foods and including chemicals in your daily routine such as alcohol, sugar and caffeine, then the more of these toxins will be stored in the fat cells of your body.
You may experience a withdrawal from the caffeine and sugar, along with the release of the stored toxins from your fat cells. This can feel strange and a little uncomfortable, and that’s why I suggest complementary supplements to support you through the detox plan.
These side effects of withdrawal should ease after just a couple of days, and you’ll start to feel more energised without having these chemicals in your system
Will I lose weight on this plan?

Do you offer vegetarian and/or vegan options on the plan?
You talk about improving mitochondrial function, can you explain what that is?
Our Mitochondria are the cells within our body which create energy, plus they are a key support to out immune system.
If the body becomes swamped with toxins, then inflammation can occur, this reduces the function of the mitochondria which in turn will negatively impact our energy reserves. Poor mitochondrial function has also been linked with weight gain. For these reasons we strive to improve the function of these amazing little cells to help support our body as a whole.
I’m on prescribed medication, should I still follow the 14-day cleanse?
I have a celebratory meal out planned during the weeks I wanted to follow this plan; can I take a night off?
This plan will absolutely not be effective if it is not followed carefully for the full 14 days. This doesn’t mean you can’t go out at all, but you will need to plan carefully. You could eat your ‘on-plan’ meal before you go out and just join in for the socialising, although remember, NO alcohol!
Or maybe you could do some research, check out the menu beforehand and if you are confident that something on the menu stays within the recommendations of the plan then go ahead and enjoy! Otherwise, I would recommend putting off the cleanse until you know you have two weeks you can dedicate to it without interruption, so that you really get the maximum benefits from it.
