There are no quick fixes or perfect foods, eating a balanced healthy diet is the answer – but that wouldn’t make you click to read more would it? That’s what I’m exploring today.
Click Bait?
Red wine is good for your health!
I think we’ve all read that one at some point, but when we dig deeper it’s actually one very small glass daily; not several glasses most days and a bottle or two at the weekends. With headlines like this it’s no wonder we are all confused.
The Perfect Diet?
The diet industry is built around a revolving door. It needs you to buy into the latest diet, lose weight, learn nothing and then try the next diet.
That might sound harsh, but it is the brutal truth. We don’t want to hear that we need to change our habits for life and the only sustained weight loss is slow and hard work, that just doesn’t make you want to read further.
Personalised Plans
The new buzz around dieting is to get you to fill in a questionnaire and then you get a personalised plan. This sounds amazing, as all listeners of the podcast know that personalised nutrition is the answer. But lets be honest, how personalised will it be from you answering a bunch of questions – not very.
But it makes great headlines and perfect click bait!
The answer?
Three very simple things will help you improve your health and lose weight (if you need to)
- Drink more water
- Eat less processed foods
- Eat more vegetables – colourful ones
And of course, eat everything, including chocolate and wine; but in moderation!
