Helping everyone incorporate premium adaptogens deliciously into their diet is the aim of nootropics, this week I talk to one of the founders Zain Peer.
About Zain
Zain is the co-founder of London Nootropics who make delicious adaptogenic coffee blends with the highest-quality medicinal mushrooms and other adaptogens.
Why coffee?
Zain and Shez started to use coffee to aid their energy and improve their workout. Then they started to look for natural ingredient that they could add to the coffee to improve it further and they discovered medicinal mushrooms and other adaptogens. They then worked with a nutritionist to develop their 3 current blends. Taste was an important factor, but the blends also had to have bioavailable products in the correct amount so that they actually work.
What are adaptogens?
They are natural substances that help to balance stresses, and they adapt to the persons needs.
Each of the three blends work differently and Zain is keen to encourage us to think about what we need, and then choose the blend that is going to work for you at that time. So if you are feeling a bit stressed or axious you might want to try Zen which has ingredients such as Ashwagandha which has show to alleviate anxiety. If brain fog is your issue then try Flow which has Lions Mane and Rhodiola to help improve mental function.
It’s all about the adaptogens, and coffee is just the way they get it in your mug. Having easy to use instant coffee is a way to ensure the active ingredients are not filtered out. And they are working on a cacao blend that will have adaptogens to promote sleep and relaxation.
Surround yourself with people who know more than you
Zain and Shez don’t have a formal training in nutrition so they enlisted the help of Amanda. They also rely on the support of their suppliers to share their knowledge and findings about the efficacy of the products they are using.
Their journey has led them to secure funding from Deborah and Sara from Dragons Den and this is helping them in their aim to reach everyone. Zain says he wants to get everyone to understand how adaptogens work and clear the shelves of sports drinks – here, here to that!
