This week I talk to mindset coach Kate McCaffrey about the benefits of walking and talking. By being side-by-side and adding movement encourages blood flow to the brain and releases endorphins, which naturally improves our mood and motivation.
About Kate McCaffrey
Kate McCaffrey is a personal mindset coach that uses walk and talk coaching in nature. She helps people find their solutions to reach their potential through creating change in their lives.
What is the benefit of walking and talking
By removing the intensity that can come from maintaining eye contact allows clients to get more in touch with their emotions. And as walking releases endorphins this can encourage positive thoughts and actions.
Asking questions and allowing people time to really delve deep into the reasons that they are feeling blocked can be life changing. Kate loves to help people overcome their limiting beliefs so that they can reach their full potential.
Change doesn’t happen overnight and breaking things down to medium term goals and even daily goals helps her clients see that the journey is achievable.
What kinds of things can you help people with
Anyone can benefit from coaching, but particularly people who feel stuck, or have a desire for change. Kate is keen to explain that she doesn’t have the answers, but works with clients to help them work out their own answers.
You don’t even need to have a goal in mind, if you are just not feeling yourself, you can benefit from some time walking and talking.
Kate’s top mindset tips
If you have a burning question or something you feel you want to achieve, start to ask yourself these questions and begin your journey:
- How can you learn more about it today – can I read a book, watch a TV show, listen to a podcast?
- What is the small change I can make to get me closer to my goal?
- Once you make that change how does it make you feel?
- Reflect back – if something doesn’t go your way look how far you have come.
Quick fire!
- Potatoes
- Night owl
- Coffee (black please)
- Good Book
- What have you got for tea? Kate’s sister is making her a fabulous veggie and chickpea curry.
