This week I did a taste test for the guys at Wilderfit. Both have lost quite a bit of weight and are committed to improving their fitness levels, so it seemed an appropriate time to introduce them to the benefits of smoothies, juices and energy balls.
We included ingredients for their health and repairing benefits* which included:
Beetroot helps improves blood flow and strengthens performance.
Celery helps reduce inflammation and detoxifies
Ginger aids digestion
Turmeric is one of natures most powerful anti-inflammatory
Pineapple contains bromelain which is a natural enzyme which helps reduce inflammation and is often taken as a supplement by athletes
Spinach is another good anti-inflammatory
Coconut water is good for rehydrating
Nuts are a great source of energy and good fats
Cacao is rich in natural anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory effects.
But the most important thing is that they are easy to make, easy to transport, and taste good.
We did a blind taste test, and there were ingredients and combinations that the guys hadn’t tasted before. Watch their reactions here.
And you can download the recipes for you to try at home Wilderfit Recipes.
*these are natural ingredients and act as an aid in training and compliment a healthy lifestyle, they are not designed to treat injury and will not work in isolation -i.e. you need to get off the couch and train!!!
